From September 26 to October 1, the cities of Tashkent and Nukus hosted the first international stage of the ItARTS Festival, transforming into exceptional stages for a program that unites visual arts, music, and performance.
The initiative represented the result of months of intense collaboration between some of the most important academic institutions in Italy and Uzbekistan, continuing the path initiated with the Creative Connections project, which has already seen the participation of students and teachers from Uzbekistan in L’Aquila.
The Italian delegation consists of students and teachers from the “Alfredo Casella” Conservatory of L’Aquila – the lead institution of the project – along with the Academy of Fine Arts of L’Aquila, the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome, the Interuniversity Department of Sciences, Project and Territorial Policies (DIST) of the Polytechnic University of Turin, and the Department of Industrial Engineering and Information and Economics (DIIIE) of the University of L’Aquila.
In Uzbekistan, the collaboration intertwined with prestigious local entities:
in Tashkent with the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, the National Variety Arts Institute “Botir Zakirov,” the National Institute of Fine Arts and Design “Kamoliddin Behzod,” and the International Caravanserai of Culture;
in Nukus with the Nukus Branch of the State Conservatory and the Berdakh Karakalpak State Academy Musical Theatre.
Thanks to these synergies, the festival offered an intense week of events: exhibitions, concerts, performances, and installations that will bring Italian culture to the forefront in dialogue with Uzbek culture.
A unique opportunity to experience art as a space for meeting, exchange, and shared growth.
